The Muscles
There are as varied styles of bodywork as there are people in the world. Chakrassage draws on each practitioner's unique vibration by not declaring one type of massage or energetic practice "the best." Some therapists excel at practicing one clean body of work, say shiatsu, and are highly successful. But most, after years of experience, move with intuition, taking the best of all they have learned from blending with there client's bioenergetic charge.
For the specialized practitioner, Chakrassage methods are meant to be added as needed, without compromising their gifts. Chakrassage enhances, augments, tones the massage practice that already exists.
That said, there are basic techniques which are suggested and taught that work well with the tenets of Chakrassage. These tenets are as follows:
I. A person must own their pain
We subconsciously organize our bodies, our environment and our experiences to maintain specific character structures and self images. This organization shapes our posture, a physical, symbolic communication to the rest of the world.
II.To heal your pain you must shift your perspective
Our painful experiences are part of a process of growth and insight that must be acknowledged, not muted and hidden. Only after allowing our pain to show and tell and listening to our bodies' stories can we move on. As shadow material is liberated from our subconscious we regain fragmented parts of ourselves, making us more complete, remembering that which has been forgotten, attaining a shift in our perspective.
III. To shift your perspective you must soften your bodyarmor
The bioelectric charge that blocks chakras is physically palpable and tangible as an organization of hyper tonic muscle groups and connective tissues. We call this bodyarmor. The bodyarmor are tight muscular contractions organizing according to the state of the chakras and their associations. Sudden dramatic shifts in the chakras may lead to acute pain and trauma, whereas daily routine chakra configurations build bodyarmor and potential chronic pain and fatigue.
IV. To soften the bodyarmor you must release the contractions
Either excessive or deficient chakras will facilitate muscular contractions, depending on the nature of the individual chakra. Repetitive muscular contractions will lead to hyper contractile muscle cells called myofascial trigger points. Myofascial trigger points result in painful, unavailable muscle tissue. MFTPs refer pain into associated muscle groups, which then form their own trigger points, making a whole myofascial unit weak and impotent. Chakrassage approaches MFTPs as a physical lack of consciousness. In essence, a trigger point is a blocked chakra.
V. Release the contractions, open your mind
Stretching a muscle into its full range of motion is akin to experiencing the chakras to their full vibratory capacity. The tissue will stretch if you remove the trigger points.
The chakras will open if you remove the blocks.
VI. Open your Meta-Healing Space
Once the blood is pumping and the cells are dilated they are receptive to the subtle suggestions of aromatherapy, sound vocalization, visualization, light and color. Integrating
the 5 senses into your sessions produces a meta-healing space where the healing process becomes quantum, especially when you add focused intent. At this level you begin
to use the chakra with its natural purpose in mind: a portal of manifestation and healing.
