About Jason Auer-Sears

Jason Auer-Sears specializes in chronic pain management integrated with bioenergetic somatic therapies that helps patients suffering with chronic pain patterns, fatigue, physical and psychological trauma, and toxicity. In conjunction with Dr. Aaron Mattes, Jason teaches Active Isolated Stretching, rehabilitating and empowering people suffering from chronic tension, pain and postural weakness. Active Isolated Stretching addresses overall physical performance and function.

As a Reiki Master and energy medicine practitioner, Auer-Sears gives frequent lectures on body/mind integration. Jason works in tandem with Des Moines Pastoral Counseling, and the Counseling Clinic of Iowa City, integrating his bodywork and energetics with psychotherapeutic counseling, which provides a well rounded and holistic experience for patient and therapist.

Blending his hard work and stamina with an open mind and gentle, intuitive touch, Jason has developed one of the most successful bodywork practices in the Iowa City, Ia area. "The success rate of bodywork on a number of conditions is extremely high, consistent and encouraging."
Jason Auer-Sears is a massage therapy practitioner who's bodywork experience covers a range from Trigger Point therapy and A.I.S., to Reiki and Biosonic Re-patterning (balancing through sound vibration). Auer-Sears practices at a natural medicine clinic in Iowa City, Iowa, called the Bradley Center, where he works as an adjunct to Dr. Bradley's sessions. Jason's skills are an integral part of the chronic pain relief and rehabilitation, as well as energy medicine. The center also offers colonic irrigation, naturopathic consultation, chiropractic care, and nutritional counseling so that Auer-Sears can offer his guests a full health experience. New additions to the Bradley Center include a physician and a midwife.

Jason Auer-Sears is a year 2000 graduate of Eastwind School of Holistic Healing in Iowa City, IA where he received his initial training in Eastern and Western Massage and various energy modalities. Other specialization includes Pre-Natal Massage for expecting mothers, a year-long Reiki Master Apprenticeship with Iowa City's Karen Fox, RM, and ongoing apprenticeship with Dr. Aaron Mattes, kinesiotherapist and creator of Active Isolated Stretching and ongoing apprenticeship with Dr. Anodea Judith, author of Eastern Body, Western Mind.

Jason has been studying the corrective functional rehabilitation methods of Active Isolated Stretching for 3 years, blending it with Travell's Trigger Point therapy for optimal results. A.I.S. empowers clients with at-home stretch routines, putting the healing schedule directly into their hands. Aside from practicing A.I.S. with his clientele, Jason assists Dr. Mattes at the certification seminars. Active Isolated Stretching addresses injuries, joint replacements, osteoporosis and aging factors, carpal tunnel syndrome, thoracic outlet syndrome, tendentious, arthritis, fibromyalgia, back problems, neuropathy, and many sports medicine considerations. Mr. Auer-Sears' goal is to teach A.I.S. to other massage therapists.

On the other end of the bodywork spectrum is Energy Medicine, also called energywork, vibrational healing, and bioenergetics. At Eastwind, Jason was introduced to Healing Touch, Biosonic Repatterning, and Reki 1 and 2. After completing his Reiki Master Apprenticeship with Karen Fox, Jason went on to work with Dr. Anodea Judith, noted author and foremost expert on chakra psychology and mind-body integration. Mr. Auer-Sears is now creating a chakra massage techniques class as a part of Dr. Judith's certification program.

Outside of a busy practice, Jason commits all else to his wife, Erin, and their three children, Ella, Luna, and Griffin. "This is the most important work I will ever do," states Auer-Sears. Jason and Erin are truly invested in their own health, and pay close attention to diet and exercise. "As our public schools sell children Mountain Dew and Cheetos, I am proud that my children crave green salads and ask for water and fresh juices. You don't hear that from many kids these days!" Jason and Erin chose home-birth with midwives for their children's birth experience and are currently enjoying home-schooling their 6 year old, Ella Pepper. The Auer-Sears family home is in Coralville, Ia.
